Licensed Veterinary Technician:

We are looking for an LVT to join our growing family! We are a small animal private veterinary hospital in Fairfax, Virginia with 5 doctors. We just moved into our new, state-of-the-art 14 exam room hospital in April 2023.

Our facility is bright, cheery, spacious and equipped with everything to make your life easier. Some highlights:

  • 10-person training classroom
  • Refrigerator & freezers drawers under the blood machines for chem clips
  • Table top refrigerators for vaccines
  • 6 custom treatment tables
  • Dual dental suite with Olympic dental tables
  • 8-nurse charting station
  • Pull-out to back stock prescription cabinets

Our work atmosphere is generally calm and relaxed and we all get along great and love joking around and having fun while at work. We are team-oriented and are all cross-trained so everybody can help everyone out! We all answer phones, talk to clients, respond to emails and help each other out depending on the needs of the day.

We take pride in our family and low-stress atmosphere and our ability to practice quality medicine. The work-life balance at MVP is awesome! You have the option to work 5, 8-hour shifts or 4, 10-hour shifts if you prefer. We generally alternate Saturdays as a team with an average of 1 Saturday a month. We take pride in not overbooking our doctors or support staff so when your shift is over, you are out the door!

In a given day, a LVT at MVP will go in with appointments to get a history and TPR for the doctor and then perform any blood draws, treatments or diagnostics needed. The technicians also start the medical record notes. The technicians assist the doctors with cytology’s, in-house diagnostics, bloodwork interpretation and follow-ups as delegated. Our technicians collect specimens, perform routine laboratory procedures, dispenses and administer medications, vaccines and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. They also place IV catheters and monitor hospitalized patients.
We are looking for a technician that is very comfortable with surgery and dental cleanings and monitoring and getting patients down and ready for the procedure. The doctors at MVP are as hands-off or hands-on as needed and they allow technicians to do as much as they feel comfortable and are trained to do.

A great fit for us would be a LVT that really enjoys getting to know clients and loves helping clients and patients through phone calls, emails and appointments. We are looking for somebody that truly loves veterinary medicine and is looking for a long-term family among our own team, but also our clients and patients.

Veterinary Assistant:

Come work for a family-oriented, private veterinary practice! We are looking for an experienced veterinary assistant to join our growing family! We are a private small animal veterinary (only dogs and cats) practice in Fairfax, Virginia with 5 doctors and growing. We just moved into our new state-of-the-art hospital in April 2023. Our new facility is right front and center on Lee Highway in the heart of Fairfax.

Our work atmosphere is generally calm and relaxed and we all get along great. We enjoy what we do and like to laugh and have fun and are looking for someone that wants to work hard and play hard with us. Our team can be found playing pranks on each other, hanging out outside of work and sending funny memes on our slack channels.

We are team-oriented and cross-trained so everybody can help everyone! We all answer phones, talk to clients, respond to emails and help each other out depending on the needs of the day. We take pride in our family and low-stress atmosphere and our ability to practice quality medicine. The work-life balance at MVP is awesome! We work 4, 10-hour shifts and alternate Saturdays (you will work 1-2 Saturdays a month on average). We do not over book our doctors so when your shift is over, you are out the door! It helps that our doctors are salaries and not production-based so they are not incentivized to squeeze everything in 🙂

In a given day, an assistant at MVP will go in with appointments to get a history and TPR for the doctor and then assist and perform any treatments needed. We pride ourselves in teaching assistants how to perform treatments so that they can continue to grow and learn. We also recently launched training classes so that you can assist with surgeries, monitoring and dental cleanings.
