At what age should I have my pet spayed or neutered?

As a general rule, we recommend performing a spay/neuter at 6 months of age in most small-medium sized dogs and 4-6 months of age in cats.  In larger breed dogs, we recommend waiting until 1 year of age as some studies show this might help reduce the risk of certain diseases developing when your pet is older.

Payment is required at the time of service. However, Care Credit can assist with veterinary bills and payment plans.

If this occurs during normal business hours, contact our hospital if possible to update us that you are bringing your pet in to us.  If we are closed, we recommend bringing your pet to the local emergency hospital VCA SouthPaws or Hope Center.
