From the moment I walked in for check-in until the smooth check-out process, I was thoroughly impressed with MVP. Dr. Hitt and her dedicated technician went above and beyond to ensure my visit was exceptional. They addressed my questions and concerns with expertise and did so with a level of attention that truly sets them apart from my other vet (across the street from MVP). I can't thank them enough for their outstanding service! 

Mainstay Veterinary Practice is one of the best! They offer compassionate and knowledgeable care that is hard to find. Every single person I interacted with was kind, efficient, and friendly. They made sure that our beloved dog received the best possible care when she was terminally ill. I am forever grateful! 

Carter was a rescue…with several problems. MVP recommended a trainer and took AMAZING care of him. We have other vets closer…but this is WELL worth the drive. They left no stone unturned and provided friendly, professional, and expert care. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I love this practice. By far the best I have ever used. We have three dogs total – 1 has severe food allergies, and the other 2 are very old and one of them was just diagnosed with bladder cancer (all diagnosed by MVP,  sometimes when other vets missed the mark). Both Dr. Hitt and Dr. C are wonderful. They love what they do and genuinely care about their patients and their owners. Their care has been great – They take their time with you and your pet and the techs are wonderful and really get to know your pets. Staff always answer questions promptly and the doctors will talk with you by phone on follow-up or if something changes. They provide prompt emails with results as well.

They also have an amazing treatment and testing area – open, clean, modern – hell, I wish my doctor’s office was that nice. When the symptoms don’t add up, they will actually research and confer and get back to you with what they found, presenting the facts and options. All of this at fair prices. In fact, both are willing to tell you what is most critical to help you prioritize your budget. My whole family takes their dogs there and between us all we have had some hard cases and intensive care over the years (we were some of their first patients based on a family friend/vet’s recommendation of a area good practice). Throughout it all, MVP has been better than the Southernly-related emergency vet in the area 😉 on quality of care and price. Tech call to let you know how your buddy is doing and will give you full readout of how they did during the day. Also, for cat moms/dads: they have separate exam rooms for cats vs. dogs, and are prompt to give you and your kitty some privacy and space -away from any dogs that may be in the office or waiting room. All of this is why we drive from Arlington to take our guys to MVP!

The vets and the entire staff at Mainstay are terrific. They are very knowledgeable, caring, and personable. You can always get a timely appointment. Additionally, they are a “one stop shop” for high tech equipment, surgery, etc. I highly recommend them. The manager must be very talented!!!

This is an extraordinary place starting with the front desk personnel, assistants, and absolutely great doctors. We were treated with such attention and respect, that never felt before, having a lot of other vet clinics experience, this one is the BEST in the area!!

I feel like every time we come in, we are welcomed by friendly staff, who, even though they’re usually busy, make sure to let us know they’ll be right with us. Zoe LOVES LOVES LOVES going in, and I feel like all of the doctors and technicians treat her as if she was their own pet. I also get timely emails and updates, and appreciate the level of communication Mainstay offers.

We have been so happy with Mainstay. We transferred from a larger practice and it has been such a positive experience. Our dogs are known and loved. We have been for check ups, first puppy visit and surgery. All have been wonderful. Highly recommend!

Mainstay Vet is great. My appointment started on time, everyone was polite and they were transparent about all costs (which were reasonable).

I am very pleased with this clinic. They always take time to answer all my questions in person, via e-mail, or by phone. My dog has fear aggression and they are always calm and loving towards him even though they may not get that treatment back. I think their prices are competitive in the area. We moved away from the area but drive up from Lorton so our dog can continue to receive his primary care here.
